Explore the Daintree Rainforest
Note – Following Tropical Cyclone Jasper & subsequent flooding mmany of the below activities are not accessible/open as of February 2024. On your visit you can enjoy experiencing the Rainforest in the ‘wet’ & access one of our walking tracks. Please email us to discuss options.
Some of the adventures you can usually experience during your stay include:
- Walking on a number of National Park boardwalks of around one hour duration
- Learning about the amazing Rainforest at the Daintree Discovery Centre
- Connecting with the traditional custodians and see and hear about their knowledge
- Eating local ice cream
- Snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef - only 30 minutes boat ride from Cape Tribulation in small groups
- Walking on tropical beaches – just not near the water!
- Swimming at a local swimming hole – ask us about the croc free ones
- Spotting wildlife in the rainforest as you stroll or relax - cassowaries, spectacled flying foxes, musky rat kangaroos, honeyeaters, double eyed fig parrots, Ulysses Butterflies and green tree frogs and many more – have been seen on the rainforest trails and in the surrounds at Daintree Siesta
- Small boat cruising in the river & mangrove environment with the chance of seeing a crocodile in the wild
- Learning more about the range of rainforest insects at the insect museum
- Identifying an amazing range of ancient plants and fungi on your wanders
- Experiencing the myriad of seasons in the rainforest – come back again visit at a different time to see and hear amazing things
- Taking a night time walk – with a good torch – and see what you can spot
- Soaring through the trees on a zipline
