Staying at Daintree Siesta

Please read these conditions carefully.
Your booking confirms that you agree to these conditions and undertake to ensure their application by any people included in your reservation or visiting Daintree Siesta at your invitation.

Tariffs

The tariff rate is agreed at the time of booking and will not change for your booking.
Please check your rate at time of booking and contact us if you have any queries.
Full tariff payment must be made on arrival or prior at the agreed rate.
Tariff includes component to Daintree Life toward local tree re-planting

Site/Room Allocation

Rooms/Motel-style Accommodation

We aim to provide you with clean, comfortable and well-presented accommodation. If you have any comments on the accommodation you have been allocated, please speak with reception within 1 hour of arrival or when an issue arises
We ask that you leave your accommodation in a reasonable state
Upon your departure, where excess cleaning is required in your accommodation, an amount of $150 will be applied to your credit card
Additional tea, coffee, sugar, milk, toiletries can be requested at reception as required
Crockery boxes and microwaves are available for loan on request and guests may utilise camp kitchen facilities for cooking - cooking is not allowed in rooms
There is no additional room service scheduled during a stay unless the stay is for more than 7 days
Guests can request a service (bed and towels change) for an additional charge
Non-returned room keys will be charged a $50 key replacement fee
No smoking or incense inside or within 4 metres of the entrance of any park facilities (particularly common areas, butterfly park and cabins). A cleaning fee of $250 will be applied if we have reason to believe that a guest smoked/used incense in a room

Damage, Breakage, Loss or Issues with Facilities

Trees and Rainforest Tracks

The trees in the park are inspected on a regular basis by a competent person, to ensure they are as healthy and safe as far as possible.
As we are in a rainforest there are times when trees will fall. Please be aware of this when setting up/positioning camp and walking on the trails.
No responsibility is taken by the park for acts of God involving falling trees or tree debris

Breach of Rules, Terms and Conditions

Breaches of rules, terms and conditions may result in eviction without prior warning and contact with police if required
Eviction will include the forfeit of all money previously paid for the booking period as well as fees for any cleaning, damage, missing items and repair costs. These will be charged to your credit card
If management considers the room to be unusable due to damage or its condition upon your departure your card will be charged for the current room rate for the period until the room can be used again

Daintree Siesta Rules

Please respect others. The tranquil nature of Daintree Siesta is important to our guests and wildlife. Disturbing your neighbours and disrupting the peaceful stay of other guests may lead to you and your party being asked to leave
Speed limit strictly 10km
No generators
No noise after 10pm
Please keep facilities clean and tidy up after use
Please use the garbage bins provided – red lids for rubbish and orange lids for 10cents collect glass (excluding wine bottles), plastic and cans (as labelled)
Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times in the grounds, amenities, butterfly park, camp kitchen and common areas
Please respect the vegetation - do not prune or take cuttings
Please don’t feed the Cassowaries
Pet poo to be bagged and deposited in the red bin near cabin 12
No washing cars or other vehicles
One vehicle per site only – please discuss with management if you require further vehicle parking so we can look at allocating an appropriate site/room
Cars must be parked in your nominated parking space
No emptying caravan toilet waste on site. Please use the dump point at Mossman or Craiglie. A $500 fee will be charged to your credit card if you disregard this request

All guests (including pets and children) staying overnight must be registered on the booking. If any other people or pets stay in your room or on your site additional charges will be incurred and/or you will be asked to leave
Visitors are welcome in the park between 9am and 8pm
Visitors’ cars must be parked in the parking area near reception or outside the park
No cooking in rooms
No illegal activities to take place on site
All persons enter the park at their own risk. The park accepts no liability for the theft of, or damage to guests’ possessions, including vehicles.
You acknowledge that you are staying at Daintree Siesta as a Tourist guest, for holiday purposes only, unless otherwise stated in writing and signed/approved by management

Daintree Siesta - Cancellation Policy

For single bookings if cancelled more than 7 days prior to check-in a fee will not be charged
For single bookings: if cancelled 7 days or less prior to check-in a cancellation fee of one day’s rate will be charged to your credit card provided at time of booking
For single bookings: cancellations or no shows on the day of check-in will be charged 100% of the booking to your credit card provided at time of booking

For group bookings (bookings of more than two sites/rooms): a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total tariff will be required at time of invoice/booking and a 28 day cancellation period will also apply as below
For group bookings: if cancelled less than 28 days prior to check in the 25% deposit will be retained
For group bookings: full payment is due 7 days prior to arrival as per invoice
For group bookings: if cancelled less than 7 days prior to check-in an additional 50% (i.e. a total of 75% of the total tariff) will be retained
For group bookings: cancellations or no shows on the day of check-in will be charged 100% of the booking

For all bookings: There is no refund for early departure or non-arrival (in line with above cancellation policies) including due to the weather such as rain, flooding or cyclones. Due to our location the weather is a key element of the experience. Sometimes it may be nature’s way of suggesting a slower pace or a different activity rather than giving up : )
For all bookings: If your cancellation is due to COVID please contact management to discuss the scenario if required
We recommend all guests consider travel insurance which may cover unexpected scenarios

Daintree Siesta Pet Policy

Pets are welcome but under strict rules due to the abundance of wildlife at Daintree Siesta.

We do not want the local wildlife to be injured by your pet and we do not want your pet to be injured by the wildlife.

Only pets included on your booking are allowed on site. Please include your pet in your booking. There is an additional nightly fee for pets included in the tariff.
Pets must be restrained on a leash 100% of the time – no exceptions – even if you are in your room, tent or caravan. Not complying with this rule may lead to you and your party being asked to leave the park
Pets are not permitted on the rainforest tracks. Pets can be walked on leads on the campground road. There are a number of other nearby locations where you can also walk dogs
Owners – Please pick up and dispose of any pet waste and dispose of appropriately in a plastic bag in the red bin located near Cabin 12
Please keep pets away from cassowaries, snakes, birds (including in the aviary) and other wildlife for their own safety
Cassowaries are not dog friendly and will attack. If a cassowary comes into the campground please secure your dog in your car, van, caravan, tent or cabin
Pets are not to be left on site by themselves
Pets must not make noise that interferes with the comfort and privacy of other persons living in the park.

For rooms – Pets are only allowed in the designated pet-friendly rooms and must be registered on your booking. Pets staying in rooms are not allowed on beds or lounges
Visiting pets are not allowed in the main reception and dining area or the camp kitchen, camp bathrooms or laundry.
Pet bedding is not to be washed or dried in the camp laundry
All pets staying at Daintree Siesta do so under the responsibility of their owners. The pet owner/handler takes full responsibility for any injury or damage caused by their pet and is solely liable to pay for any claims of compensation in relation to their pets actions.

If your pet disturbs other guests or these rules are not followed you may be asked to leave and there will be no refund of monies for remaining nights of stay

Where pets cause damage to Daintree Siesta facilities a cleaning/repair fee of $200 will be charged to your credit card
