Rainforest Connections Walk

Daintree Forest Bathing Experience

Slow down and experience the Daintree Rainforest in a different way.

This is your invitation to experience the Daintree - not just visit it.

The Rainforest Connections Walk is a gentle, guided forest bathing / forest therapy experience along our private rainforest tracks at Daintree Siesta, in the heart of the World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest.

Your Certified Forest Therapy Guide will lead you through gentle sensory experiences, inviting you to connect with the rainforest’s sounds, textures, movement and life.

Daintree Rainforest Connections Walk

What is forest bathing?

Forest bathing — or shinrin-yoku — originated in Japan and simply means spending time immersed in the atmosphere of the forest.

This journey through the rainforest is not a hike, exercise class or guided nature tour –  instead, forest bathing encourages us to slow down and engage our senses.

A growing body of research into forest bathing suggests that spending time immersed in forest environments may help reduce stress, encourage relaxation and support overall wellbeing.

Our Rainforest Connections Walk follows the approach of the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT) and is led by Tamara, a Certified Forest Therapy Guide.

What happens on a Rainforest Connections Walk?

This experience is about taking the time to form your own connection with this extraordinary place.

We begin by leaving behind some of the usual distractions of the day and allowing ourselves time to arrive in the forest.

As we move slowly along the rainforest tracks, your guide will offer a series of invitations. These might encourage you to notice movement, listen more closely, explore textures or simply spend time quietly in one place.

Instead of asking What can I see?, we invite you to spend some time discovering what you notice when you slow down.

You may become aware of the movement of leaves high in the canopy, tiny fungi beside the track, subtle changes in light and temperature, or the sounds of water and wildlife you might otherwise pass by.

The walk concludes with Tea Under the Trees, giving us time to sit together, share tea and reflect on the experience.
